- Valid driving license.
- Experience in a similar position.
- Experience working in a school-set up will be an added advantage.

The position
The Aga Khan Education Service, Kenya (AKES, Kenya) operates 5 schools in various cities in Kenya and provides nursery to senior secondary education in both national and international curricula. It is part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a group of private development agencies working to improve living conditions and opportunities for people of all faiths and origins in specific regions of the developing world.
The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi (AKA, Nairobi) is an IB continuum school in Kenya authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate curriculum (IB) from Early Years through to Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). With over 1000 students, AKA, Nairobi is a multi-cultural school with a variety of nationalities represented in our student and teaching faculty.

Role Summary
The Transport Coordinator/Driver will play a dual role, splitting time equally between driving school vehicles and coordinating the school’s transport operations. The role ensures efficient and safe transport services, manages vehicle scheduling, and maintains the condition of the school's fleet through regular inspections and timely maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport Coordination (50%):
- Booking and Scheduling:
- Establish and maintain a system for booking and scheduling school transport services.
- Work with school administration and parents to accommodate transportation needs.
- Coordinate drivers’ schedules and vehicle assignments.
- Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance:
- Ensure all school vehicles are regularly inspected.
- Keep records of inspections, repairs and services.
- Reporting and Support:
- Coordinate reports and support for vehicle maintenance and operations.
- Liaise with external maintenance service providers.
- Student and Staff Transportation:
- Safely transport students and staff as per scheduled routes.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled and ready for use.
- Adhere to road safety regulations and school policies.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Report safety or mechanical issues promptly.
- Field Trips and Events:
- Provide transport support for school events.
- Assist in planning transport logistics for events.
- Plan and Schedule Transport Services:Â Ensure efficient route management.
- Maintain Vehicle Safety:Â Conduct regular inspections and keep maintenance records.
- Support Transport Operations:Â Coordinate reports and liaise with service providers.
